Teri Hayes – Director and Senior Hydrogeologist, AWN Consulting

Teri has over 20 years of experience in contaminated land assessment, risk assessment and remediation. Teri has a MSc in hydrogeology and  is a former President of The International Association of Hydrogeologists, Irish Group (IAH) and is a professional member of the Institute of Geologists of Ireland (IGI) and European Federation of Geologists (EurGeol). Key expertise include hydrogeological assessment and aquifer characterisation, contaminated land assessment including risk assessment and cost effective remediation. Her project experience has resulted in an in depth knowledge of the natural and built environment and current EU legislative framework. She has successfully led multi-disciplinary teams to implement the most cost effective and sustainable solutions. Teri has written and provided technical training on contaminated land and environmental impact assessment for both the public and private sector and has considerable experience in public presentations, stakeholder liaison and acting as a legal witness.


Dr. Fergal Callaghan – Director, AWN Consulting

Dr Fergal Callaghan is a director with AWN with responsibility for Quantitative Risk Assessment. He has extensive experience in providing consultancy services to licensed establishments in Ireland and overseas, Dr. Callaghan has a B.Sc. (Industrial Chemistry) and Ph.D. Chemical Engineering.  He has been involved in the working groups to assist the H&SA in the preparation of a number of aspects of the Seveso III compliance regie.  He is an Associate Member of The Institution of Chemical Engineers (AMIChemE), a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC), Member of the Environmental Protection Subject Group, IChemE, Member of the Safety and Loss Prevention Group, a Graduate Member of The Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management. He has 24 years engineering and consultancy experience in the Irish, UK and European environmental industry.

Training Environment:

CMG Professional Training courses take place at our state-of-the-art training facility in the Apex Building situated in the Beacon Quarter of Sandyford Industrial Estate, Dublin 18. The CMG Training Centre is accessible by the Luas, (Sandyford line, Stillorgan stop – 6 mins walk) several bus options (the number 11 travels from O Connell street Dublin and stops directly outside the training centre) and we are situated very close to the M50 at the Beacon Hospital corner. There are several car parks within a three minute walk from the training centre with very competitive ‘all day’ parking rates and we have a range of coffee shops (including Starbucks) as well as shops and restaurants nearby.

This course costs €395 (EARLY-BIRD), normal rate €435. Includes course documentation and light refreshments.
