Data Protection compliance are regularly carried out by the Data Protection Commissioner to assess how compliant an organisation is and where they are vulnerable.
As opposed to waiting until a company receives notification of an audit and then going through the nightmare of panic preparations, you can prepare now.
By carrying out your own audits regularly, you can identify where your organisation is getting things right as well as reveal where there are weaknesses in your data protection procedures and policies.
In fact the Data Protection Commissioners’ office has recommended that regular compliance reviews are undertaken as part of ongoing internal management of data protection.
This course offers practical guidance on conducting your own data protection audits/reviews. This and much more will be discussed throughout this intensive training day, as well as excellent Q&A opportunities with the course trainer, who is an expert in data protection. All participants will receive 6 structured CPD point and a full informative course pack to refer back to at any time. Kate is the principal of law firm Colleary & Co and a founder and director of consulting firm, Frontier Privacy.
Kate gained an honours degree in law from Trinity College Dublin in 1995. She has been a qualified solicitor since 1999.
She has also received a Diploma in Arbitration from UCD and a Diploma in E-Commerce from the Incorporated Law Society of Ireland. She previously led the IP/Data Protection department of a large international firm. In Frontier Privacy, Kate runs the team that carries out Data Protection audits/gap analysis reporting for clients, large and small. Her team is renowned for providing clear, commercially focused solutions and clearly mapping how to achieve compliance using a project management approach.
Kate is regularly asked to speak on FOI and data protection issues and to comment in the media. She lectures on the Incorporated Law Society of Ireland’s postgraduate courses in technology law. She was one of only three Irish lawyers nominated for a Women in Law Award by the UK’s Lawyer Magazine. Kate has recently set up a “knowledge-net” group of privacy professionals who meet monthly to analyse the latest developments in privacy and cyber-information. She is also the Irish Co-Chair of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
CMG Professional Training courses take place at our state-of-the-art training facility in the Apex Business Centre situated in the Beacon Quarter of Sandyford Industrial Estate, Dublin 18. This course costs €365 (EARLY-BIRD), (normal rate). Includes course documentation and light refreshments. While the course fee does not include lunch, we do provide freshly made sandwiches, Nespresso coffee and a range of teas and fresh juice for those who require a light lunch.
