Wastewater Treatment – Key Problems & Solutions

  • 5 CPD Hours Apex Building, Blackthorn Road Sandyford Business District D18 (map)

In the first half of the day, we will give an insight into key legislation relating to Wastewater treatment, including the Water Framework Directive and the EC Environmental Objectives (Groundwater) Regulations 2010. We will then examine primary treatment, secondary treatment - including key design equations, fixed and suspended growth processes, as well as the most common problems associated with this treatment and will show solutions

In the second half of the day, we will examine tertiary (advanced) treatment for further nutrients removal. We will explain key concepts, denitrification, as well as insights into phosphorus, chemical and biological removal. We will then cover sludge treatment technologies, and will discuss energy production from wastewater, including anaerobic digestion design, maximising rate of biogas generation and optimising digester performance, and common problems and solutions.

All attendees will gain expert insight from our expert trainers, as well as a highly informative Q & A, a full course pack and 5 structured CPD points
