Course Description

This training course is aimed at those working with high-risk patients in health and social care settings including community based, residential or nursing homes who develop and plan services for high-risk fall cases. This course will give delegates a thorough understanding of the risks associated with falls, the contributing factors, how to plan for and report a fall or near miss and so much more.

• To understand causes, risk points and environmental risks.

• Falls risk assessments.

• To be aware of risk reduction measures for residents.

• Managing a Falling Resident

• Organisational policies.

• Legal responsibilities

• Falls Prevention Programmes

• Developing a Falls Care Plan

• How to report a fall- documentation, evidence etc

Who Should Attend?

This course would be of interest to healthcare professionals with special responsibility for falls prevention in nursing homes, hospitals, hospices, day care centres, rehabilitation centres, primary care centres and any healthcare services public or private with risk of falls and in need of precautionary measures.

Certification

On completion of this one-day training course, you will receive your Certificate of Attendance. Please note certificates are issued at the close of the training course to participants on completion of the course. Please check directly with your association or awarding body to see how many points they will award.

Cost

An ‘Early Bird’ discounted rate of €465 is currently available. The normal rate is €565. Places are limited and are allocated on a first come first served basis. PLEASE NOTE THE EARLY BIRD RATE CLOSES 3 WEEKS PRIOR TO COURSE DATE.
