Paddy McDonnell

TECHNICAL DIRECTOR, PHOENIX SAFETY TRAINING SERVICES

From 2000 until his retirement from the Department of Defence in 2010 he was a senior lecturer at the School of Military Engineering in the Irish Defence Forces Training Centre, lecturing on fire safety both operational and prevention, breathing apparatus, and road accident rescue.

He is a fire safety consultant with Phoenix STS Ltd. where he specialises in fire safety and emergency management within healthcare. He is a specialist adviser on healthcare fire safety training programs, pre- fire planning, and evacuation strategies.

Conall Finn

Chief Operations Officer and Assigned Certifier with i3PT Certification, a multi-disciplinary Assigned Certification body.

He is an experienced Chartered Engineer with a fire and mechanical engineering background and he lectures for the Institution of Fire Engineers and DIT. He also acts as vice-chair for the Engineers Ireland Project Management Society. He is currently working as an Assigned Certifier on a number of Large-scale commercial and residential developments and he oversees teams of Assigned Certifiers. Among the projects he is currently working is the Capital Dock project, which includes Ireland’s tallest building, a 23 storey Residential Apartment Block of 79m in height above ground level.

Dr Mike Dennett

PHD MIFIREE

From 1964 to 1994 Mike served in all ranks of the fire service up to Assistant Chief Fire Officer working mainly in the Metropolitan areas of Merseyside, Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire.

In February 2002 he was awarded a Research Degree (PhD) at the University of Central Lancashire that encompassed work in fire technology, fire engineering, fire service management and economics.

As a fire investigator he has acted in cases throughout the UK and Northern Ireland, the Irish Republic, Belgium, Greece, the Canary Isles and Hong Kong.

Kevin Hollingsworth

MANAGING DIRECTOR, OMEGA SURVEYING

Kevin Hollingsworth is a chartered Building surveyor and chartered project management surveyor with over 20 years experience remediating defective apartment buildings between Ireland, United Kingdom and Australia.

Kevin has a certificate in construction studies from Dundalk Institute of technology and a degree in building surveying from Liverpool John Moores University. Kevin is a former chairman of the building surveying division and the current chairman of the communication standing committee of the Society of chartered surveyors Ireland. Kevin has managed the remediation process of numerous multi unit developments through out Ireland over the past 10 years and has a wealth of experience in relation to fire safety in multi unit developments.
