Support the legal and human rights of all patients!

A patient advocate is a role that requires many skills. They are required to make sure that the legal and human rights of a patient are understood and upheld. They are employed by hospitals and care homes to act as a line of communication between patients, families and those with an active role in the patient’s care. They provide access to information and address concerns ensuring the dignity and quality of life of the elderly, disabled and those suffering severe illness is being preserved.

This course will go over the role of the advocate, how to recognise and prevent elder abuse, legal rights and the issues surrounding death and dying.
