What has happened? An analysis of new developments
GDPR is a phrase that every company, organisation or public body is aware of. A year on from the introduction of the regulation, some things have changed and guidance has issued from the Irish Data Protection Commission and the European Data Protection Board – specifically for the Healthcare sector. We now need to review our systems to ensure that they match these updated requirements. Healthcare is a sector that manages multiple forms of sensitive personal patient data and was the subject of a Data Protection Commission review and report in 2018.
This intensive one-day course will offer delegates expertise into the areas and issues associated with the healthcare sector. What can and cannot be done with patient information, storage of information, consent for research and data retention will be some of the topics covered on the day. Attendees will leave with a greater in-depth knowledge of their responsibilities associated with individual roles in their positions.
All attendees will get a chance to engage in an informative Q & A session, and will receive a highly informative course pack, and leave with 5 structured CPD Points.
Topics to be discussed include;
How the data protection law applies to the health sector
What can and cannot be done with patient information
