Overview of the GDPR, Role of the Data Protection Officer, Risk Management Initiatives, PIA Methodology
Data Protection Impact Assessments are now legally mandatory when processing information from individuals. When your organisation/company collects, stores or uses personal information the individuals whose data you are processing are exposed to risks. DPIAs enable organisations to assess potential data protection and other privacy implications at the design stage of a new system or process. Such risks can be assessed and addressed within the development of the system or process.
DPIA’s are vital for negating risk and demonstrating compliance with GDPR.
We will cover an informative walkthrough of the GDPR in general terms, as well as the Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) methodology in detail, and explore how to identify and undertake a project that may require a PIA. You will hear from others in your field on the key risks that arise from the PIA and will be offered guidance on best practice. You will also receive a full course pack to refer back to at any time, and will gain 5 Structured CPD points to add to your yearly requirements (if applicable).
