Course Description

This one-day course is designed to provide attendees with an understanding of the broad suite of contracts contained within the Public Works Contracts.

This course will provide an overview of the contracts themselves and their objectives. You will learn about important recent changes and how to manage risk when using these contracts. We will examine the various roles and responsibilities, and will provide practical guidance on important payment mechanisms, as well as how to handle compensation or dispute events.

  • Introduction to the PWC suite of Contracts
  • The Objectives of PWC
  • Risk Management
  • Roles and responsibilities of the Employer, the Employer’s Representative, the Contractor’s Representative, Sub-Contractors, and the Quantity Surveyor
  • Introduction to the procedure for delay events and compensation events and dispute resolution
  • Introduction to Notice Procedures
  • Understand the review of payment mechanism principles

This course will be of interest to all those new to the contracting community including, employers, employer representatives, contractors, surveyors, architects, engineers, specialist contractors.

Certification

On completion of this one-day training course, you will receive your Certificate of Attendance. Please note certificates are issued at the close of the training course to participants on completion of the course. Please check directly with your association or awarding body to see how many points they will award.

Cost

An ‘Early Bird’ discounted rate of €465 is currently available. This training course normal rate is €565. Places are limited and are allocated on a first come first served basis. PLEASE NOTE THE EARLY BIRD RATE CLOSES 3 WEEKS PRIOR TO COURSE DATE. The course cost includes all course documentation and Certificate of Attendance.
