Cara is a dual qualified professional in Civil engineering and law. Cara has worked extensively in the international arena in the Americas, Europe, Australia/Asia and Africa (Northern and Sub Sahara) before finally making the move back to Ireland in 2019. Throughout her career Cara has held positions in large global consulting practices and professional engineering service firms (Snowy Mountains Engineering Corporation (SMEC)/Surbana Jurong, FTI Consulting, Arcadis). In these roles, Cara was responsible for providing advisory services such as contract management, disputes or forensic litigation services on infrastructure and civil engineering projects of all types from inception to completion. Cara has been involved in disputes on some of the worlds largest projects across a wide range of sectors (energy, roads, rail and sporting arenas). Immediately prior to re-joining Quigg Golden, Cara worked at Jennings O’Donovan & Partners as a Contracts Management Advisor where she advised clients on projects with a focus on the water and renewables sector all over Ireland to public and private sector clients. Prior to relocating back to Ireland Cara acted as an Advisor to the United Nations (UN) providing contract management, implementation support and claims and dispute advice for the UN’s global infrastructure portfolio. This involved extensive travel to the UN offices and project locations to provide targeted advice during the planning, implementation and handover stages of the projects. Cara is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), a member of the Society of Construction Law (SCL) and has recently been accepted onto the construction panel of the American Arbitration Association (AAA). She has completed the CIArb conciliation course and participates in industry events and conferences.
